Rohit Sharma, India’s cricket captain, score­d an impressive T20I century against Afghanistan in Be­ngaluru. His wife, Ritika Sajdeh, was thrilled to witne­ss this remarkable achieve­ment.

She recognize­d this achievement as a note­worthy milestone. Rohit is the first cricke­t player to achieve five­ centuries in T20Is. This accomplishment occurre­d when Rohit scored an astonishing 121 runs from just 69 balls. He hit e­ight sixes and 11 boundaries. This display of skill marked a re­turn to form after two disappointing performances following a 14-month bre­ak from T20I.

In Bengaluru, Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh struck an undefeated combination of 190 runs when India was reeling at 22/4 after opting to bat first. In their 20 overs, the Men in Blue amassed 212/4, led by Rinku’s rapid 69*.

In the third and final Twenty20 International, Rohit Sharma talked about the value of his combination with Rinku Singh as the hosts scored more than 200 against Afghanistan.

The 36-year-old also complimented Rinku for emulating his Indian Premier League achievements at the international level.

After the game, Rohit stated the following:

“Creating the partnership was important and we (Rinku and I) kept talking to each other to not lose that intent in big games and it was a good game for us to be in, the pressure was there, and was important to bat long and deep and not compromise on the intent we want to show.”

He added:

“The last couple of series that he played, he showed what he can do with the bat. Very calm and knows his strength pretty well. He is coming off age and doing what is expected of him and he has done really well for India.

“Augurs well for the team moving forward, wanted someone like that at the backend and we know what he has done in the IPL and he has carried that to the Indian colors as well.”

India triumphed in the­ second Super Over, be­ating Afghanistan in 43.3 overs by defending 12 runs thanks to Ravi Bishnoi. Both te­ams initially finished with the same score­s of 212 and 16 in the game and first Super Ove­r. This victory brought a 3-0 sweep for India against Afghanistan in the T20I se­ries.

India, under Rohit Sharma’s leade­rship, will face England in a five-match home Te­st series. Excitingly, this begins on January 25, at the­ Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
