Ravichandran Ashwin the offspinner for Rajasthan Royals (RR) caused significant havoc in Royal Challengers Bengalurus (RCB) batting order. He dismissed the Australian duo of Cameron Green and Glenn Maxwell successively during the IPL 2024 Eliminator. Ravichandran Ashwin exceptional economy rightfully earned him those crucial wickets.

Cameron Green was 27 years old and felt compelled to take Ravichandran Ashwin to task. The experienced off-spinner produced a carrom ball, and the batter attempted to go over long-on but lobbed it towards covers, where Rovman Poweel made his second brilliant catch of the game.

Glenn Maxwell stepped out to bat next and decided to take a huge shot against Ravichandran Ashwin immediately. However, he hit it nowhere near the center of his bat, and Dhruv Jurel made an easy catch at far on.

Here’s footage of both dismissals:

Ravichandran Ashwin could have added another wicket in Rajat Patidar if Dhruv Jurel hadn’t fumbled a straightforward catch. However, his stats of 2/19 have put the Royals in a good position.

Avesh Khan had previously removed Rajat Patidar and had the opportunity to strike twice, like Ashwin did when Dinesh Karthik was stranded in front. However, the UltraEdge made it appear like there was a knick, and the third umpire overruled the decision. The decision has already sparked a heated debate on social media.

RR teammates and Kumar Sangakkara in the dugout seemed enraged and perplexed since they were confident that the bat impacted the pad, resulting in a spike on the UltraEdge.

Nonetheless, Karthik is still at the crease and has formed an essential relationship with Mahipal Lomror. RCB will be hoping that the two can take them beyond the 180-run mark, which appears to be the bare minimum considering the dew factor.
