Recently, Prithvi Shaw, the captain of the Indian Under-19 World Cup-winning team, had an unfortunate encounter with some admirers. This happened when a few admirers asked for a photograph with the cricketer while he was out in the company of friends close to the Mumbai Airport.
Shaw complied and took a few pictures with them before deciding to go. This did not please the fans, who wanted to take more pictures. After Shaw denied their request, they reportedly pelted his friend’s car with a baseball in which he was riding. Prithvi Shaw attempted to protect himself and the car by fending off the baseball assault from the girl fan.
Indian cricket fans took note of the incident on social media and were disheartened to witness Prithvi Shaw’s involvement in such a controversial issue. They likened Shaw to Vinod Kambli, assuming he was throwing away his cricketing career and not meeting his full potential as a batsman.
