The passion for cricket in India is so strong that supporters often go to great lengths to catch a glimpse of their beloved players on the pitch. During the first day of the second Test between India and Australia, a fan’s bid to do so was stopped by security personnel. Nevertheless, what Indian bowler Mohammed Shami did next brought joy to the many fans on social media and those in attendance at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

On the first day of the national championship in the capital city, a spectator suddenly ran onto the field. Before he could get to any of the players, the security guards captured him and began to pull him away. Shami noticed the incident and approached the security guards, likely giving them a suggestion to be a bit more lenient with the intruder.

In the match, KL Rahul made a remarkable one-handed catch to get rid of Usman Khawaja, who had been playing well, and India further squeezed Australia by making them score 199 runs at the tea break of the first day of the second Test on Friday.

During the lunch hour, Australia had been at 94 for 3, and three more wickets were lost in the afternoon due to the batters’ submission to the spinners. Travis Head, playing his first match in the series, attempted to hit Mohammad Shami and the ball flew to Rahul, who grabbed it firmly at the second slip.
