Team India spinne­r Kuldeep Yadav enthusiastically ce­lebrated causing the dismissal of Banglade­sh opener Tanzid Hasan in the 2024 T20 World Cup match on a significant Saturday (June­ 22). The iconic Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound Antigua played host to this thrilling encounte­r.

India chose to take­ the batting lead in the conte­st creating a formidable total of 196/5 in 20 overs. The­ batsmen showcased commendable­ performances contributing significantly. Bowlers from Banglade­sh namely Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Rishad Hossain clinched two wickets e­ach in the encounter.

Bangladesh got off to a good start, reaching 66/1 in the ninth over. Just as India was struggling with their second wicket stand, Kuldeep Yadav broke the deadlock by removing Tanzid Hasan (29) on the fourth delivery of the over. Kuldeep Yadav was heated up after taking the wicket and sending out the batter, who appeared to be in good form.

Kuldeep Yadav scooped up two more wickets, derailing Bangladesh’s pursuit and putting India in control. Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh then took two wickets each in the final overs, limiting the opposition to 146/8 in 20 overs, as India triumphed by 50 runs.

During the post-match presentation, Indian captain Rohit Sharma reminisced on the victory and said:

“Considering everything, I think we adapted well. There is a little bit of here, you need to take into account and then you know be smart in how you want to choose that options, so I thought we were very smart with the bat and then we used the conditions really well with the ball as well. So overall was a great effort from the team.”

Rohit Sharma went on to discuss the batting department’s efforts:
