Arshdeep Singh representing Team India wasted no time. He struck early by dismissing Shayan Jahangir in the 2024 T20 World Cup clash against the United States of America (USA) at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Wednesday June 12.

Arshdeep Singh was given the new ball, and the left-arm seamer swung it back to the right-hander. Jahangir struggled to manage the inswinger and was slow to lower his bat. The ball smacked directly on his front pad, resulting in an easy ruling for the on-field umpire following a lengthy appeal by the fielding side.

Arshdeep Singh ended up the opening over in style, taking the second wicket of the innings. He worried new batter Andries Gous right away, practically replicating Jahangir’s ejection. However, the ball struck the right-handed batter quite high on his pad.

After a few fidgety strokes, Gous attempted a long delivery with a pull shot. But he was undone by the additional bounce, which caused the ball to hit the top edge. Hardik Pandya made the easy catch to end USA’s early woes.

Arshdeep bowled a terrific second over as well, surrendering only one run. His statistics are currently 2/4 after two overs, while the USA is trying to create a mark, having scored only eight runs in the opening three overs.
