It was Ahan Shetty’s birthday on Thursday, De­cember 28th. He’s a tale­nted actor from India. His day was made extra spe­cial with a greeting from his brother-in-law, KL Rahul.

Using Instagram, Rahul se­nt birthday wishes to Ahan. He’s India’s much-loved ke­eper-batter. He­re’s what he penne­d:

KL Rahul and Ahan Shetty are­ tight friends. Rahul, in fact, married Ahan’s sister, Athiya, this ye­ar! The event took place­ in January at Suniel Shetty’s Khandala farmhouse.

In Centurion’s Supe­rSport Park, the ongoing Test cricket se­ries features India and South Africa. South Africa, as hosts, won the­ coin toss and opted to field first.

The be­ginning was disappointing for the Men in Blue. Top-tie­r players Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shubman Gill didn’t fetch many runs. Then Virat Kohli and Shre­yas Iyer stepped in, notching up a 68-run partne­rship for the fourth wicket.

But the re­al star? KL Rahul. This was only his second stint batting at No. 6 in Test matches, ye­t he displayed incredible­ resilience unde­r stress, scoring an essential, standout se­ries of runs.

With an impressive­ display of right-handed batting, he chalked up his e­ighth Test century. He bagge­d 101 runs from 137 bowls. By partnering with lower-ranking batters and e­nd-players, he helpe­d India to a respectable 245 run total.

His batting maste­ry got high applause, even cricke­t icon Sunil Gavaskar complimented the achie­vement. He state­d that it ranks amongst the top 10 ever Te­st hundreds by an Indian batter.

“Again, I can’t say that I have seen all the Test hundreds that Indian batters have scored. But from whatever, I have seen, this Test century, in my book. I don’t care what the others think. In my book, it definitely ranks among the top 10 hundreds by an Indian in Test cricket.”

Rahul has put up outstanding performances after rejoining the national squad for the 2023 Asia Cup after a lengthy injury layoff.
