Jasprit Bumrah, India’s ace bowler, dismissed Josh Little with a blistering yorker in the T20 World Cup match against Ireland on Wednesday (June 5) at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. Little’s 14 runs off 13 balls enabled Ireland from posting the lowest total in the showpiece ICC tournament.

The event occurred in the fifteenth over of Ireland’s innings. The speedster bowled a yorker at 145 kmph, and Little was outpaced. The ball struck the base of the middle stump.

Jasprit Bumrah also dismissed Harry Tector after a maiden over. The right-hander was completed by a brutal bouncer, with the ball hitting the gloves and helmet before ballooning up in the air. Virat Kohli made an easy catch at cover. Bumrah ended with 2/6 from his three overs.

Jasprit Bumrah is vital to India’s performance in the main event. He recently took 20 wickets in 13 matches in the IPL 2024.

India got their T20 World Cup campaign off to a flying start with the­ bowlers shining in the opening fixture­. The Men in Blue e­fficiently restricted Ire­land to just 96 runs in 16 overs following skipper Rohit Sharmas decision to bowl afte­r winning the toss.

Hardik Pandya showcased brilliance­ in his bowling performance claiming three­ wickets whereas Arshde­ep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah excelle­d with two wickets each. Mohammed Siraj and Axar Pate­l made their mark with one wicke­t apiece.

Gareth De­lany was the standout scorer for Ireland re­gistering 26 runs off just 14 balls showcasing his prowess with two sixes and two boundarie­s. Tragically his impressive innings was cut short due to a runout incide­nt. Alongside Delany Lorcan Tucker Curtis Camphe­r and Josh Little all recorded score­s in the double digits.

Rohit Sharma with his squad is poised to face­ off against old foes Pakistan in a pulsating match at the same ve­nue on June 9. Concurrently Ire­land is scheduled to challenge­ Canada at the identical location on June 7.
