Hardik Pandya, Team India’s all-rounder, provided an upbeat report on his finger injury received during Sunday’s ODI World Cup match against Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
In the early stages of the innings, Hardik got struck on the hand while attempting to stop a drive by David Warner off his bowling. The medical crew treated him and he remained on the field. In his debut spell, he bowled two overs and gave up 21 runs.
He returned to bowl at the end of the innings with a taped finger, claiming Adam Zampa’s wicket to finish with numbers of 1-28. Hardik collected Cameron Green’s catch off the bowling of Ravindra Jadeja while also making an appearance with the bat (11* off eight to secure India’s six-wicket victory).
The ace all-rounder delivered an update on his finger injury after being smacked on the hand during a practice session ahead to the match against Australia.
Hardik Pandya, who will turn 30 years old on Wednesday, October 11, informed the broadcasters:
“I wasn’t able to bowl much (due to his injury), but I am fine. It’s just a blood clot, a little bruise.”

Hardik went on to say that India is looking forward to the forthcoming showdown with Afghanistan:
“There’s a lot of excitement around us, fans are supporting us and it’s a special feeling to be playing in home conditions. Looking forward to this challenge.”

Hardik Pandya would like to celebrate his 30th birthday by leading Team India to the top of the ODI World Cup points table.
Following his chat with the broadcasters, he cut a cake and remarked about the event.
“My son got me a board which he made a couple of days ago, a very good way to wake up to. I got a lot of wishes in the morning from friends, also from some during the night.”
