Mitchell Marsh, an Australian all-rounder, sparked outrage on social media after a photo of him putting his feet on the 2023 World Cup trophy went viral. It took place on November 19, following the final versus India in Ahmedabad.

Reports re­veal that an FIR is on record against Mitchell Marsh due to his be­havior. The objection was raised by Ke­shav Pandit, an RTI activist, in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, because Marsh upse­t the emotions of Indian cricket supporte­rs.

In addition, Pandit has sent a duplicate of this objection to the­ PM, Narendra Modi. His aim is to bar Marsh from participating in cricket matches within India.

Team India sprinter Mohammed Shami recently expressed his anger with Mitchell Marsh’s continued possession of the World Cup trophy.

Shami expressed his displeasure at seeing the Australian bowler resting his feet on a trophy that many desire to win and keep on their heads. In an interview with reporters, he stated:

“I am hurt. The trophy for which all the teams in the world fight, the trophy which you want to keep on your head, keeping a foot on that trophy did not make me happy.”

Mohammed Shami put in outstanding performances at the 2023 World Cup. The experienced seamer finished as the edition’s best wicket-taker, with 24 wickets in just seven innings. He took three fifers, including a sensational seven-wicket haul against New Zealand in the semi-final.
