Mumbai Indians (MI) devotees experienced profound disappointment following the franchises staggering loss in their closing league encounter of IPL 2024 on Friday May 17. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) emerged victorious by an 18run margin at the Wankhede Stadium concluding with 14 points from 14 games.

Nicholas Pooran (75) and KL Rahul (55) played admirably, helping LSG to a formidable total of 214/6 in 20 overs after being asked to bat first. Rohit Sharma then scored a magnificent 68 (38) to establish a solid foundation for Mumbai Indians in the chase.

After the match, Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya commented on his team’s terrible performance in the IPL 2024, saying:
“I mean it was quite difficult this season. We didn’t play good quality cricket which eventually cost us the whole season. It’s a professional world.”
