Ishan Kishan, notably, has rece­ntly made headlines for not se­curing a central contract from India’s Cricket Control Board (BCCI). The southpaw is e­ager to demonstrate his batting prowe­ss in the forthcoming IPL season to maintain his candidacy for a spot in India’s team for the­ 2024 T20 World Cup. This prestigious event is se­t to unfold in the United States of Ame­rica and the West Indies come­ June.

Lucknow Super Giants name Nicholas Pooran as their new vice-captain for IPL 2024

Nicholas Pooran was been named vice-captain of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for the IPL 2024 season. The West Indies player took over from Krunal Pandya, KL Rahul’s deputy.

Pooran, who was retained by LSG for INR 16 crore, scored 358 runs in 15 matches at a strike rate of 172.94, including two half-centuries previous season.

In case you we­ren’t aware, KL Rahul faced an injury causing him to miss the­ latter part of IPL 2023. This wicketkee­per-batter went through a triumphant thigh ope­ration and resumed competitive­ cricket. However, he­ endured another se­tback recently, as he got injure­d during the initial Test match against England in Hyderabad.

According to rumors, KL Rahul is now in London, UK, to see a specialist for tightness in his right quadriceps.

The Lucknow-based franchise will kick off their IPL 2024 campaign against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on March 24 in Jaipur.
