Cheteshwar Pujara, a one-format player, made his Test debut 13 years ago and has remained relevant amid rigorous evaluation of his technique. By adhering to his beliefs and outlasting numerous opponents, his accomplishments have reached a world-class level. 

Surpassing his 100th Test, this Indian batter tells the reporter about the pivotal moments in his career and the productive traits which led to his success in the game.

During the Interview by Nagraj Gollapudi, he was asked that he only play in one format, but his need for success is solid as ever. Why does he still stay on?

Pujara replies that It’s nothing but the love for this game. It is now the way of life for him, and he never dreamt of doing anything else aside from playing the sport. He further states that he wi’ll never need any kind of motivation for his overall happiness to continue to grow. While his focus is mainly on international cricket. By looking at his performances at any level – club, state, county, country – no one can doubt his level of commitment. 

With regards to the recent instance, He spoke about the Ranji Trophy against Andhra where he lost and scored 91. That was one of the first big games played at home, considering the roughness of the playing field. The team lost in 130-odd runs [150 runs] by his ninth wicket. Pujara believed that there was no substitute for him in such an important position, regardless of how much time has passed since he first entered. This attitude occurs more often than not: as long as he is at the cricket crease, he has a possibility of winning a match and winning the team, the cricketer adds.
