Aakash Chopra has warned that India’s performance in Test cricket will suffer unless they improve their batting against spin. In the third Test against Australia, India lost by nine wickets, with 18 of their 20 wickets falling to spin. Chopra expressed disappointment at India’s poor play against spin, stating that if it continues, it will lead to a problematic situation for the team. He also observed that when the opposition team struggles against spin, India tends to struggle as well.

Aakash Chopra expressed his disappointment with the Indian batsmen’s inability to handle spin during their recent match as he reflected on the team’s loss in a video shared on his YouTube channel. He says: “The play against spin has become extremely bad. If our performance against spin is like this, our situation will be bad. One thing is certain if the opposition team is not able to play spin, we also don’t play spin well.”

Aakash Chopra attributed the Indian batsmen’s struggles against spin to the excessive limited-overs cricket played on flat pitches. In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Chopra observed that the Indian team’s openers had scored a 225-run partnership on the same pitch, where they later struggled against spin. According to Chopra, the Indian batters’ lack of experience playing on turning tracks is the root of the problem. He further explained that the team is accustomed to scoring double-hundreds in ODIs and centuries in T20Is, making it challenging to adjust to the difficulty of playing on surfaces that offer turn and low bounce.
