The 2023 Men’s World Cup has only just begun, but already records have been broken left, right, and center. Pakistan sought the greatest total ever in the history of the men’s World Cups as late as Thursday.

On the same field, South Africa and Aiden Markram established new records for the highest men’s World Cup score and the fastest century of the competition. Again, a flat pitch is anticipated to go well with the short boundaries.

3. Rohit Sharma is chasing Chris Gayle and Sachin Tendulkar’s records

2. Ibrahim Zadran could break a big Afghan record
Today, young opening batsman Ibrahim Zadran has a chance to become Afghanistan’s fastest player to score 1,000 ODI runs. After only 20 innings and an average of 51.83 runs, the 21-year-old has 933 runs.
Only ten Afghan hitters have scored 1000 runs in the format. Rahmat Shah is the quickest among them, having taken 26 innings. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Mohammad Shahzad each took 27 and 30 innings.
1. Rohit Sharma could be the fastest Indian to 1000 World Cup runs
With his duck against Australia, Rohit Sharma blew a golden opportunity to become the quickest cricketer in men’s ODI World Cup history. After 17 innings, he had 978 runs. His competitor David Warner (who had 992 runs after 18 innings) broke the record with a 52-ball 41.
But all is not lost for India’s captain. If Rohit hits 22 runs today, he would not only become the competition’s joint-fastest to 1000 runs, but also the quickest in India. With these 22 runs in his 19th innings, he will have surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 1000 runs in 20 innings.
