Yashasvi Jaiswal, a young Indian opener, has risen further in the new ICC men’s Test rankings after his performance against England in the Ranchi Test. The left-handed hitter has risen three positions to 12th in the latest rankings.
Joe Root, England’s star batsman, returned to the top three after scoring an unbeaten 122 in the first innings in Ranchi, moving to third place. The Yorkshire batter has also risen three places in the men’s all-rounder rankings, to fourth.
Dhruv Jurel, a wicketkeeper-batsman, has risen 31 places in the men’s Test batting rankings to 69th place following his match-winning efforts in Ranchi. England opener Zak Crawley has gone into the top 20 for the first time after scoring 42 and 60 in the just ended Test.
Ravichandran Ashwin’s fifer helped him close the distance on Jasprit Bumrah, the top-ranked bowler in men’s Tests. Kuldeep Yadav reached his career-high rating of 32 on the list.

Yashasvi Jaiswal ranks third in India’s run-scorers against England. Only Rahul Dravid and Virat Kohli have more runs in a Test series. So far in the series, the youngster has scored 80, 15, 209, 17, 10, 214*, 73, and 37.
Ben Stokes’ men won the first Test in Hyderabad by 28 runs. But India stormed back, winning the following three matches handily. India is winning with an unbeatable 3-1 lead, thanks to a five-wicket win in Ranchi.
This was also India’s 17th consecutive series victory at home, having last lost a series in 2012. The final Test will be on March 7 in Dharamsala, India and England’s fifth and last match in this series.
