In the second Test match against England, Indian Cricket Team captain Rohit Sharma had a funny chat with umpire Marais Erasmus. This chat was about a DRS review. It all took place on Saturday (February 3), during Day 2 in Vizag.

Jasprit Bumrah was the one that made this happen. It was the 26th over of England’s initial batting round. Bumrah took out England’s top batsman, Joe Root, in that over’s fourth ball. Then, he bowled an amazing yorker to Jonny Bairstow. The ball speed was over 140kmph.

At the match’s start, Bairstow failed to move his bat quickly enough. The ball collided with his boots. Bumrah and his team members called for LBW, but umpire Marais Erasmus rejected their appeal.

Rohit Sharma considered using the DRS review, conversing with his teammates before deciding against it. Light-heartedly, he sought the umpire’s opinion. Responding, the umpire quipped, “it’s too late now.” Rohit Sharma, finding humor in the situation, moved on to prepare for the coming over.

India added 60 runs in the morning session before being dismissed for 396 in their opening innings of the second Test on Day 2. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored his maiden Test double century to assist India to a respectable total.

Indian speed spearhead Jasprit Bumrah (6/45) then delivered a magnificent bowling effort on a placid pitch, putting India ahead after two days. He wrecked havoc with a reverse swing masterclass and swept through the English middle order.
