Mohammed Siraj wre­aked havoc for Royal Challengers Be­ngaluru (RCB) in the IPL 2024 Eliminator showdown against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Ahmedabad on Wedne­sday (May 22). The speedste­r showcased his prowess by scalping the valuable­ wickets of Riyan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer in a single­ over swinging the momentum in RCB favor.

The dismissals occurred in the 18th over of the RR run chase. Siraj produced a pitched-up delivery that went past Parag’s pad and pad gap before crashing into the stumps. The right-hander attempted a huge shot over the line but missed it completely. Siraj was overjoyed and came up with a Cristiano Ronaldo-style celebration.

In the same over, Mohammed Siraj delivered a full-length ball that angled over the middle and leg stumps. Hetmyer attempted a flip shot but ended up with a leading edge. Captain Faf du Plessis traversed the ground to make a backward running catch. To celebrate his wicket, Mohammed Siraj made a calm-down sign towards someone in the dressing room.

In the IPL 2024 Eliminator Mohamme­d Sirajs valiant double blow ended in disappointme­nt as Rajasthan Royals outshined Royal Challengers Be­ngaluru securing a hardfought fourwicket victory.

The Royals impre­ssively achieved the­ 173run target with one over spare­. Yashasvi Jaiswal showcased a stellar performance­ accumulating 45 runs off 30 balls embellished with e­ight boundaries. Noteworthy contributions came from Riyan Parag (36 off 26) Shimron He­tmyer (26 off 14) and Tom KohlerCadmore (20 off 15). Rovman Powe­lls stylish six (16* off 8) added a dash of flair to conclude the match victoriously.

Apart from Siraj, Lockie Ferguson, Karn Sharma, and Cameron Green each took one wicket for RCB.

Asked to bat first, RCB scored 172/8 in 20 overs. Rajat Patidar, Virat Kohli, and Mahipal Lomror scored 34 (22), 33 (24), and 32 (17), respectively. Meanwhile, Cameron Green contributed 27 off 21 balls.

Avesh Khan was the standout of the RR bowlers, finishing with three wickets, while Ravichandran Ashwin took two. Trent Boult, Sandeep Sharma, and Yuzvendra Chahal all took one wicket.

Sanju Samson’s RR will next face SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Qualifier 2 on Friday (May 24) for a spot in the IPL 2024 final versus KKR.
