In Google’s 25-year history, ace batsman Virat Kohli of Team India is now the most searched cricket player. Via a unique video posted on its social media account, the massive search engine verified the same.

Virat Kohli, 35, is considered as one of the greatest hitters in cricket history. He is the fourth highest run-scorer in international cricket history. The right-handed hitter has 26,532 runs at an average of 54.36 in 518 matches across formats, with 80 hundreds and 138 half-centuries.

Google released a movie on Monday evening, December 11, which included an extensive compilation of the most sought-after subjects during its 25-year existence. Subjects covered included sports, entertainment, politics, and viral trends, among other genres.

The video was posted on Google’s X account with the caption:

“If the last 25 years have taught us anything, the next 25 will change everything. Here’s to the most searched moments of all time. #YearInSearch.”

While Virat Kohli was the most googled cricketer, Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese football icon, topped the list of most searched sportsmen, ahead of Argentina’s Lionel Messi. Football, unsurprisingly, topped the list of “most searched sports.”

He injects confidence in others. When he was the captain, he ensured everyone remained fit. Fitness was his top parameter in the team.”

Virat Kohli ended the 2023 ODI World Cup as the top run-scorer, with 765 runs in 11 matches at an average of 95.62 and a strike rate of 90.32.
