This year’s instalment of the IPL is fast approaching and India’s eclectic array of stadiums will soon be transformed into pulsating cauldrons of color and noise. The IPL 2023 edition is set to begin on March 31 onwards. With the home-and-away format making a return for the first time since 2019 and 12 venues to be used runs are bound to be offered. Here are the three most batting-friendly stadiums in IPL 2023.

#1 Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai

The home ground of Mumbai Indians has been host to countless high-scoring thrillers due to red soil which aids bounce. With short boundaries, and dew factor this venue becomes a nightmare for bowlers. The average first-innings score at the venue when it comes to T20Is reads 185.

#2 Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi

It’s the home ground for Delhi Capitals. The last T20I fixture at the venue yielded over 400 runs. Short boundaries, particularly on the leg side coupled with a flat surface, make it difficult for the bowlers to have a say at this venue. The average first-inning score at the venue reads 164.

#3 IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali

Even being among India’s largest venues, this venue has witnessed the IPL’s fastest fifty among several other memorable clashes. The home ground of Kings XI Punjab ever since their rebranding often allowed batters to keep the scoreboard ticking with potent running between the wickets before they can accelerate in the death overs due to large boundaries. The ground boasts an average score of 183 across six T20I matches.

There are other promising venues that promote optimum batting experience, such as the Chinnaswamy Stadium and Eden Gardens, but the recent trend has not been as consistent towards run scoring as before.
