Suryakumar Yadav the Mumbai Indians (MI) batter made his way back to the pavilion without registering any runs in the IPL 2024 clash against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the renowned Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The dismissal orchestrated by his former teammate Krunal Pandya during the enthralling run chase on a significant Friday left a poignant mark on the match.
Suryakumar Yadav confidently strode to the crease at No. 3 after Dewald Brevis departure in the ninth over. The stage was set for a colossal 215run chase with the topranked T20I batsman entrusted with maintaining the momentum. Faced with a few dot balls against NaveenulHaq at the end of the ninth over Suryakumar Yadav squared off against the wily leftarm spinner Krunal Pandya.

The wicket reduced MI to 89-2, and Rohit Sharma’s departure one over later aggravated the situation to 97-3. The first batsman scored an impressive 68 runs off 38 deliveries, while the rest struggled.

Having sat out the initial stages Suryakumar Yadavs journey with the bat for MI has been a mix of highs and lows. The righthanded batsman achieved his second IPL century during MIs victory over the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Additionally he swiftly reached a halfcentury in the triumph against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
On the contrary he registered ducks in the home matches against the Delhi Capitals (DC) and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). His first outing was against DC. In conclusion he finished his season with 345 runs across 11 innings.
