Hyderabads batting performance turned out to be the Achilles heel in the pivotal contest. It was a moment of disappointment as the team heavily relied on Pat Cummins and Aiden Markram to lead the charge both crossing the 20run threshold with scores of 26 and 20 respectively.

For Kolkata, all six bowlers claimed at least one wicket. Andre Russell got three wickets, with Harshit Rana and Mitchell Starc each taking two.

Sunil Narine bowled an excellent session, surrendering only 16 runs in his complete four overs and grabbing one wicket. He failed to set the stage ablaze with his bat, dying after striking a spectacular six off Pat Cummins’ bowling.

KKR secured their third IPL championship adding to their previous wins in 2012 and 2013. Its worth highlighting the crucial role Narine played in Kolkatas lineup throughout all three title triumphs.
