Saurabh Netravalkar’s line-lengths were once again right on, securing a critical breakthrough for the USA in their Super 8 match of the T20 World Cup 2024 against South Africa on Wednesday (19 June). This intriguing clash will take place at Antigua’s Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.
Saurabh Netravalkar impressed with his first over, bowling in an unpredictable region and giving only three runs. In his second over, Saurabh Netravalkar’s good-length ball caught Hendricks coming down the track and attempting a lofted shot.
However, the ball could only make contact with the bottom of the bat. It flew into the air and was caught by Corey Anderson at mid-off. Hendricks entered the dugout after scoring 11 runs off as many balls.

T20 World Cup 2024: Quinton de Kock powers South Africa in powerplay against USA
After Hendricks was dismissed in the third over, the Proteas needed a boost in the powerplay overs, and the Antigua pitch provided ample support for the batters. Aiden Markram and Quinton de Kock combined for three sixes and two fours in the fourth over, bringing the total to 28 runs.
The southpaw resumed his onslaught, helping South Africa conclude the powerplay with 64 runs. At the time of writing, De Kock had achieved his half-century in 26 balls, while Markram has also delivered some fine shots and appears dangerous.
If the two can maintain their dominance in the following few overs, the USA team will undoubtedly be under pressure. A total of 200 batters are expected, including David Miller, Heinrich Klaasen, and Tristan Stubbs.
