Sarfaraz Khan, a Mumbai cricket player, joined India’s team for the ongoing five-match home series with England. This addition happened on Monday, January 29, for the second Test.
Naushad Khan, Sarfaraz’s dad, showed his joy at his son’s first time joining team India. He voiced thanks to the BCCI and national selectors for trusting his 26-year-old son.
Musheer Khan, Sarfaraz’s younger sibling, posted a video of Naushad. It was on social media where Naushad expressed:
“You all know that Sarfaraz got his maiden Test call-up today. I want to thank everyone, especially the Mumbai Cricket Association where he grew up. Also, the National Cricket Academy, where he got experience, BCCI and the selectors for trusting in him, and all his fans who prayed for him and supported him. We all hope that he always plays well for the country and contributes to the team’s win.”

Sarfaraz Khan has shown his skills in local cricket, performing incredibly for Mumbai. In India ‘A’s first two unofficial Tests against England Lions, he displayed excellent performance, with scores of 55 and 161 in his two recent innings.
This capable young player has achieved 3,912 runs from 45 first-class games, maintaining a remarkable average of 69.85.
India bolster Test squad with Sarfaraz Khan, Washington Sundar, and Sourabh Kumar for 2nd Test
India have suffered a big setback ahead of the second Test against England, with senior players KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja ruled out of the contest due to their respective injuries.
Jadeja’s injury is a hamstring one, which happened in the first match. Rahul can’t play because his right leg quadriceps hurts. Replacing them are Sarfaraz Khan, Washington Sundar, and Sourabh Kumar.
The upcoming match will be at Visakhapatnam’s Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium. It happens from February 2nd to 6th. England currently leads the series by winning the first match by 28 runs.
