Former Indian batter Sanjay Manjrekar could understand Virat Kohli’s displeasure when Rishabh Pant was dismissed in the T20 World Cup match against Bangladesh. Kohli was not amused when Pant attempted a reverse sweep against Rishad Hossain and was caught at short third man.

Sanjay Manjrekar believes it is normal for Kohli to feel that way because the southpaw appeared to be in perfect control of his innings up until that moment. He further stated that other Indian fans would have felt similarly about the ejection.

Here’s what Sanjay Manjrekar said on Star Sports:

“Virat Kohli reacted the same way how fans would have reacted after looking at Rishabh Pant’s dismissal. The man who has so many good shots in the front of the wicket in his repertoire should try and avoid such a shot. Telling a player like Pant to show some patience would not be ideal but maybe Kohli might try to tell him.”

Rishabh Pant got eliminated for the second time in the competition while attempting a reverse sweep. He got trapped LBW trying to replicate his previous game against Afghanistan off Rashid Khan’s bowling.

Rohit Sharma meanwhile had no complaints from India’s approach

Skipper Rohit Sharma was pleased with the Men in Blue’s attitude throughout their innings. He encourages hitters to play aggressive cricket without regard for milestones, and here’s what the captain said after the game at the presentation ceremony:

“All eight batters need to play their role, whatever it is. We saw one guy get 50 and we got 197, in T20 I do not believe we need to get fifties and hundreds, what matters is the pressure you put on the bowlers. All the batters from the word go played like that and that’s how we want to play as well.”
