Team India encountered a formidable challenge as Rishabh Pant fell for a mere four runs during the actionpacked 2024 T20 World Cup semifinal clash against England. The leftarm seamer Sam Curran only needed two deliveries to secure a vital breakthrough for his team in the intense final over of the powerplay at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Thursday June 27.

Rishabh Pant was forced to come out to bat in the third over of the innings after Reece Topley dismissed Virat Kohli. The left-handed hitter hit a few of singles against the pacers before facing Curran in the sixth over.

Have a look at the dismissal right here:

Rishabh Pant has experienced a series of easy dismissals since the Super 8 round. In Team India’s victory over Australia in St. Lucia, he was removed by Marcus Stoinis after being hit twice by the reverse sweep.

Rishabh Pant started practically every match but did not make the most of it. The four-run knock against England is his lowest score in the competition, and such dismissals do not augur well for his future position in the Indian top order.

Team India placed at 65/2 after eight overs as rain stops play

The Men in Blue were rebuilding their innings in the middle overs, with Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav facing Adil Rashid and Chris Jordan to gain momentum. Midway through the seventh over, rain fell briefly, but the umpires elected to continue playing.

However, only a few minutes later, the rain became quite heavy, forcing the players to leave the field. As of writing, covers have been placed on the pitch and outfield, and first impressions are not promising.

However, on a good note, there is still a long way to go before we start losing overs. The cut-off time for a 10-over game is 1:44 AM IST.
