Rohit Sharma the former Mumbai Indians (MI) captain expressed his disgust as his conversation with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) support staff was made public by official broadcasters during IPL 2024. The 37yearold cricketer was disappointed by the broadcasters and sought privacy.
Rohit further warned that such actions to increase interaction and views will only undermine confidence between players and fans. On Sunday (May 19), Rohit Sharma went to X (previously Twitter) and wrote:
“The lives of cricketers have become so intrusive that cameras are now recording every step and conversation we are having in privacy with our friends and colleagues, at training or on match days.”

He continued:
“Despite asking Star Sports to not record my conversation, it was and was also then played on air, which is a breach of privacy. The need to get exclusive content and focused only on views and engagement will one day break the trust between the fans, cricketers and cricket. Let better sense prevail.”

Before the MI-LSG game, Rohit asked the cameraman to give him some privacy. He said:
“Bhai audio band karo haan. Ek audio ne mera wat laga diya. (Brother please close the audio, one audio has already made things difficult for me).”

The aforesaid remark happened after his video with KKR support staff member Abhishek Nayar went popular on social media. In the video, Rohit said:
“Ek ek cheez change ho raha hai…Woh unke upar hai…Jo bhi hai woh mera ghar hai bhai, woh temple jo hai na maine banwaya hai (Everything is changing one by one… It’s on them… Whatever, but it’s my home brother, it’s the temple that I constructed).”
