Robin Uthappa – “Loyalty and respect is a give and take”

During the game between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans on May 23, former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa slammed a supporter for a controversial tweet. A user had questioned his devotion to the Kolkata Knight Riders, which led to the development. Uthappa responded appropriately, saying that respect and loyalty go hand in hand.

Uthappa initially posted a photo of himself and his kid cheering on CSK while sporting yellow jerseys. The post’s caption read:

Robin Uthappa is one of the IPL’s highest run scorers. In 205 games, he scored 4,952 runs at a strike rate of 130.55, including 27 half-centuries. When KKR won their second IPL title in 2016, he ended the season with 660 runs in 16 games.

During his limited opportunities for CSK, the Karnataka batter produced a match-winning effort. He struck 63 off 44 balls in the Qualifier against Delhi Capitals. He remained unbeaten at 31 off 15 as CSK won the IPL 2021 final.

The 37-year-old just declared his retirement, with the intention of playing for the India Maharajas in the Legends League Cricket Masters in March. During the competition, he turned back the clock with an undefeated 88 off 39 balls against Asia Lions.
