Rishabh Pant the talented player from Team India stunned everyone with a bold reverse lap shot to seal the victory against Ireland in the T20 World Cup 2024 held on Wednesday at the Nassau International County International Stadium in New York. Barry McCarthy the Irish bowler was left astounded as India clinched an eightwicket win to kick off their campaign.

The event occurred in the 13th over of the innings, with the Men in Blue needing only six runs to win. McCarthy’s delivery was innocuous, but Rishabh Pant immediately got into position and reverse ramped it over the keeper’s head. The ball easily cleared the boundary.

The southpaw, who hit an unbeaten 36, was also magnificent behind the wickets, and India selected him above Sanju Samson. The 26-year-old began by using a skier to remove Paul Stirling, followed by an easy take to eliminate Curtis Campher.

Gareth Delany, who led the way with 26 points, was the final nail in the coffin, as Rishabh Pant and Mohhamed Siraj worked together to influence the outcome. While Hardik Pandya was India’s best bowler, taking three wickets, Jasprit Bumrah was named Player of the Match after scoring 3-1-6-2. India limited Ireland to 96 runs before chasing down the mark in 12.2 overs.

Rohit Sharma’s side will meet Pakistan again on June 9 at the same location. Pakistan is yet to launch their campaign, which will take place on Thursday against the United States. Given how easily Canada was defeated, the United States may show to be a formidable opponent.
