Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant will play for the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL), according to Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly.

Rishabh Pant, the captain of Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League, has not played since he was hurt in a terrible vehicle accident in December of last year. He was in the collision and has been recovering for several months due to various injuries.

In encouraging news, on Thursday, November 9, the keeper-batter trained alongside his Delhi Capitals colleagues at the Jadavpur University Salt Lake Campus.

In a PTI article, Sourav Ganguly was reported as stating, while discussing this with reporters recently:

“He’s (Pant) good now. He will play in the IPL next season.”

The former captain of India disclosed that Pant is spending three days in Kolkata planning team-building exercises in front of the December 19 IPL auctions in Dubai.

Additional information on Pant’s visit to the training camp was provided by the cricket director of the team. He said:

“Rishabh won’t be practicing here though. There’s still time for him to get down to practice. By January (2024), he’ll get even better. We were talking about the team. He is the captain, so he put in his views regarding the upcoming auction. That’s the reason he has come here, to finalize certain aspects related to the team.”

During IPL 2023, veteran Australian opener David Warner captained Delhi Capitals in Rishabh Pant’s absence. DC had an unremarkable season, ranking 9th out of 14 teams with 5 wins and 9 defeats.
