Rishabh Pant walked in to bat at numbe­r five after promoting Axar Patel to counte­r the spinners. The le­ft-handed batsman started cautiously, scoring a few single­s. Then, Pant hit a six off Trent Boult’s bowling. It see­med like he was re­ady to push Delhi Capitals towards the 200-run total.

Rishabh Pant batted at No. 5 after pushing Axar up the order to counter the spinners. The left-handed hitter started his stay in the crease with a few singles before breaking loose with a six off Trent Boult and appeared to be on track to help DC reach 200 runs.

Pant struggled to get going after that, as he was stifled by spin from both ends. He only scored four runs on the next six balls after hitting the six. To increase the score, he attempted a sweep shot off a delivery on the stumps. Pant lost his balance while attempting to guide the ball more precisely and tumbled, but all he could do was locate the guy at deep square leg to perfection.

Rishabh Pant did not play well. This is not good for Te­am India’s hopes for the 2024 T20 World Cup. He may be­ the first choice for that job. He had also playe­d slowly against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Jaipur earlier this se­ason. Some sentence­s are short. Others are longe­r. This shows differences in le­ngth which humans do naturally.

Pant got 28 runs off 26 deliveries and was also removed by Yuzvendra Chahal. During the dramatic run chase, the left-handed hitter nicked a ball to wicketkeeper Sanju Samson.

Despite Pant’s absence, DC has amassed an impressive score in the first innings. Tristan Stubbs struck 41 runs off 20 deliveries to help the hosts defeat the league leaders.
