Rinku Singh didn’t shine in Kolkata Knight Riders’ colors against Chennai Super Kings on April 8th. He had a disappointing outing, getting out cheaply. Scoring just nine runs from fourteen deliveries, Rinku Singh failed to make an impact. His dismissal came at the hands of Tushar Deshpande, who sent him packing early on.
The Chepauk pitch offered some grip, and Deshpande took full use of the circumstances by using his variations well. Rinku Singh attempted to escape the shackles with a hoik over midwicket, but Deshpande’s change of pace limited the southpaw to an inside edge back onto his stumps.
Tushar Deshpande was ecstatic, and rightfully so, since Rinku Singh might have done a lot of damage in the final three overs of KKR’s innings. Here is a video of Rinku’s dismissal.
Deshpande also took the wicket of another strong batter, Andre Russell, in his penultimate over, in addition to Rinku Singh and Phil Salt, who he removed first ball. He finished with an amazing score of 3/33.
CSK restrict KKR to just 137/9
Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad stated after the toss that the hosts needed a critical flip of the coin to win, which is precisely what happened for the Chennai Super Kings. Despite losing Salt early, Sunil Narine and Angkrish Raghuvanshi gave Kolkata a strong start.
Ravindra Jadeja, on the other hand, used his expertise to his advantage, scoring 3/18 and putting the visitors in trouble. He dismissed both set batters and sent back Venkatesh Iyer.
KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer top-scored with 34(32) in an innings that lacked momentum. With dew potentially playing a deciding role in the second innings, CSK will fancy their chances of victory. Kolkata’s spinners must have a field day to win.
