Yashavi Jaiswal was removed from the game in the third over of India’s opening innings. Just outside off stump, the pacer delivered a ball that was short of length. Mohammed Siraj’s expert bowling skills lead India to restrict South Africa to only 55 runs in the first innings. This is South Africa’s smallest score in Test cricket when playing against India.

Siraj concluded with an incredible 6/15 performance that included the highly sought-after wickets of Marco Jansen and Proteas skipper Dean Elgar. Mukesh Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah, however, were content to share two wickets each.

The hosts’ batsmen tumbled like a house of cards, with just David Bedingham (12) and Kyle Verreynne (15) reaching double digits.
