As 2023 drew to a close, Jasprit Bumrah, a Team India fast-bowler, shared a throwback Instagram reel. This year brought significant personal changes for Bumrah. He and his spouse, Sanjana Ganesan, joyfully greeted their first child, a son they named Angad, in the month of September.
For Jasprit Bumrah, 2023 was a mixed bag as a cricket player because he had to miss over half of the season because of injuries. Before making his much awaited return in July to captain a youthful Indian team in the T20I series against Ireland, he was absent from the IPL, the WTC final, and several other series.

In the Asia Cup and the 2023 World Cup, Jasprit Bumrah led the Indian group’s baseball endeavor. He was constantly outstanding, fighting valiantly against every opposing player. Amongst World Cup players, Bumrah was fourth in overall takedowns, scoring 20 in 11 matches. He’s now in South Africa, participating in a two-round series with the Indian Test team.
He decided to give fans a sneak peek at his career in 2023. Posting a nostalgic reel on his Instagram account on Sunday, Jasprit Bumrah offered an insight into his journey.

Rohit Sharma laments lack of support for Jasprit Bumrah in 1st Test vs South Africa
India’s team leader, Rohit Sharma, gave credit to Jasprit Bumrah’s fantastic job in the Boxing Day Test versus South Africa. He felt that the other team members didn’t give Bumrah proper backup.
Reviewing his team’s bowling efforts at the press briefing after the match, Rohit stated:
“Bumrah bowled well. All he wanted was a bit of support from the other end, which he didn’t get. That happens. All the other three bowlers were trying very hard, bending their backs, but it just didn’t work out. It didn’t happen the way we would’ve wanted to. But again, games like these teach what you need to do as a bowling group. Hopefully, they understand what went wrong and try and come back stronger in the next game.”

Rohit Sharma continued:
“It wasn’t a 400-run wicket. The way the wicket was behaving, we conceded a lot of runs. It happens. We can’t depend on just one bowler. It’s important that the other three bowlers also do well. The way the opposition bowled, there’s a lot to learn from that.”

The next Test match for India and South Africa will start on January 3 in Cape Town.
