Maxwell’s Story of Missing India: A Journey of Love and Loss
Glenn Maxwell, an Australian star all-rounder, said he would “nag me for the rest of my life” if he can’t go on the upcoming tour of India.
Maxwell had been out of commission for three months after breaking the fibula in his left leg at a friend’s birthday party in November last year.
Seeing your teammates play, especially over there, is a treat. Since I’ve followed Test matches in India, I know their current squad is the best. India and Australia will play the inaugural test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Nagpur on February 9.
Australia will play Test matches in New Delhi (February 17-21), Dharamsala (March 1-5), and Ahmedabad (March 8-11) during their upcoming tour of India, where they have yet to win a series since 2004. (March 9-13).
After the Tests are over, there will be three One-Day Internationals played in Mumbai (March 17), Visakhapatnam (March 19), and Chennai (March 23). (March 22). Maxwell will not be able to play in the Tests, but he may be able to return for the limited-overs series.
Unfortunately, he won’t make it to the BBL playoffs. His dedication to getting back on the field is impressive, though. I would venture that he might be available or hitting some cricket balls by the end of January, to return to play some state and Shield cricket and, ultimately, make it onto the plane for Australia’s One-Day Tour of India.
