With the current occupancy of the second spot by SunRisers the Royals must triumph to claim that position from the Orange Army. In case inclement weather disrupts the match the Australian pacers and their cohort will maintain the second spot and face the Kolkata Knight Riders in the first qualifier. Meanwhile the Royals will be up against the redhot Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

The SunRisers achieved a convincing victory over the Punjab Kings at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Despite Punjab posting a total of 214 runs in their allotted 20 overs the home team successfully chased down the target with five balls to spare securing a fourwicket win.

“It’s pretty cool, it’s awesome. We have won 6 out of 7 here, it has been great and amazing. I didn’t know many guys coming into this season, but we have played great cricket and had some fun. Great bunch of guys. He (Abhishek) is amazing. I wouldn’t want to bowl to him. It’s scary as he plays with freedom, not only against pacers but also against spinners.”
