Mohammed Siraj, an Indian pacer, has shared his thoughts on rising to the top of the bowlers’ ICC ODI Rankings during the 2023 World Cup. Siraj, who now holds the highest rating point total among bowlers (709 rating points), advanced with his excellent performances against South Africa and Sri Lanka.

However, he has been quite public about his ultimate ambition, which is to help Team India win the World Cup. Siraj is pleased with his recent efforts since they have helped the Men in Blue win games, which he considers to be more significant.

Here’s what Mohammed Siraj had to say about his top rating in a recent video that the ICC and BCCI released:

“To be honest, I was No. 1 for some time and since then I have also been up and down the rankings. So this number doesn’t really matter to me. The goal is to help India win the World Cup. I just hope that my performance helps the team achieve that goal.”

In response, he said:

“I feel proud to be a part of this team where everyone is giving such a performance in the World Cup. I just hope that we continue to give performances in the upcoming important matches as a team and as a bowling unit. Very happy with this unit.”
