Australia Choose to Bat First Against India in World Cup Clash

Having won the toss, Australia’s captain Pat Cummins decided to bat first against India in the 2023 World Cup game on Sunday. Marcus Stoinis, an injured all-rounder for the Australians, has been replaced by Cameron Green.

At the toss, Cummins said:

Shubman Gill’s absence from the starting XI in 2023 world cup owing to sickness led Rohit Sharma and company to make a change as well. He has been replaced as the playing XI’s opener by Ishan Kishan.

“He (Shubman Gill) hasn’t recovered in time. Ishan comes in to replace him, he will open the batting.”
