Star cricketer KL Rahul was recently photographed in a picturesque setting during his postIPL 2024 getaway. His last onfield presence was observed a month ago as he guided the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL tournament. Despite securing playoff berths in their first two seasons LSG could not progress to the knockout phase this year. Their performance failed to meet expectations resulting in a seventhplace finish on the table with 14 points across 14 matches.

KL Rahul had a solid run with the bat racking up 520 runs at an average of 37.14 with four halfcenturies making him the star rungetter for his side. However he didnt hit it out of the park as the skipper steering a greenhorn team.

He also did not make the Indian T20 World Cup team, as the selectors chose Yashasvi Jaiswal over him in the opening slot. Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson were preferred for wicket-keeper batter positions.

After a few intense months of IPL play, KL Rahul took some time off to rest. He offered followers a taste of his holiday by posting a couple of photos on his official X account. Watch them below:

Former Indian batter Aakash Chopra recently examined the Lucknow Super Giants’ retention possibilities ahead of the blockbuster auction next year. He chose Nicholas Pooran as one of the most apparent candidates for retention.

Chopra went on to say that if KL Rahul wants to stay, LSG should not allow him go, because an Indian player of his quality may not be available at the auction. In a video on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra addressed the issue:

“Nicholas Pooran should be retained in my opinion. KL Rahul should be retained if he wants to be retained because you want a captain and you won’t get an Indian player of that quality. Marcus Stoinis is in the maybe or maybe not category. If he is good, he is very, very good, but the good days are often fewer than bad days. So that is a concern. You want more good days.”

Chopra went on to explain the alternatives under LSG’s bowling department:

“I won’t want to retain anyone apart from Ravi Bishnoi in bowling. If I am getting Mayank Yadav in the uncapped category for three to four crores, I might retain him, but I will let everyone else go. I will also let Krunal Pandya go. I will not retain anyone else. I will say that I will start afresh.”
