KL Rahul, the chief of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), experienced a short moment of confusion during the coin toss before Lucknow’s IPL 2024 battle versus Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 27.
Sanju Samson, the opposition captain, pleaded for heads as Rahul spun the coin. The former won the toss when the match referee stated that heads would come up. However, for some inexplicable reason, Rahul approached broadcaster Ian Bishop, presuming he had won the toss.
After some uncertainty, it was revealed that Sanju Samson had won the toss and the RR captain had chosen to bowl first. Here’s a video of how the situation played out.

Samson did not see the need to make any changes to his squad, which defeated the Mumbai Indians by nine wickets. Lucknow also retained the same lineup that helped them defeat Chennai in Chepauk.
KL Rahul’s fine knock guides LSG to a competitive total
KL Rahul once again led from the front for the Lukcnow Super Giants, who did not get off to the greatest of starts. LSG were down 11/2 after losing Quinton de Kock (8) and Arcus Stoinis (0) early on.
However, after weathering the initial pressure from the moving ball, Rahul and Deepak Hooda gradually reversed the tide against the Royals. The two contributed an impressive 115 runs for the third wicket, laying the groundwork for Nicholas Pooran and others to follow.
Ayush Badoni (18) and Krunal Pandya had useful cameos as Lucknow posted 196/5 in 20 overs. RR got off to a flying start, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler adding 60 runs in the first partnership. LSG, on the other hand, has sprung back into action, with both openers returning in three deliveries.
