Jos Buttler the explosive Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener bids farewell to the team camp embarking on a journey back to his homeland in England. His departure is fueled by a spirited blend of excitement and determination as he prepares to lead the English team at the 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA commencing next month.

The English are also reigning champions, having won the event in Australia in 2022 under Jos Buttler. Will Jacks and Reece Topley have also departed the Royal Challengers Bengaluru camp and will miss the balance of the IPL 2024, along with his international team skipper.

Buttler concluded his IPL 2024 run last Sunday as Rajasthan Royals took on Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Batting first in the match RR managed to score 141/5 in their 20 overs. The Royals innings began slowly with opener Jos Buttler finding it challenging to accelerate on a sluggish pitch. It required 25 deliveries for him to reach 21 runs before losing his wicket in the 9th over.

Riyan Parag (47*) and Dhruv Jurel (28) batted brilliantly in the second half of the innings, helping their team to a decent total. The goal proved to be below average, as CSK chased it down in 18.2 overs thanks to Ruturaj Gaikwad’s captain’s knock.

RR is presently second in the points chart, having scored 16 points from 12 games. They will play their final IPL 2024 league matches against PBKS and KKR on May 15 and 19, respectively.

The Royals have two outstanding overseas bats, Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Donovan Ferreira, who might replace Buttler in the starting XI in the future games.
