During the India-Nepal Asian Games 2023 quarterfinal on Tuesday, October 3, in Hangzhou, the young phenom Yashasvi Jaiswal accomplished yet another outstanding performance in his incredibly limited international career by scoring a miraculous 100 off 49 deliveries.

The batter, who is 21 years old achieved a feat by becoming the youngest Indian player and one of the fourth fastest to score a century, in T20I matches. He accomplished this milestone in 48 deliveries.

Based on his performance in cricket Jaiswal was selected to represent Team India in Test matches during their tour of the West Indies in July. Taking advantage of this opportunity the left-handed batsman made an outstanding debut by scoring a magnificent 171 runs, at Roseau.

Jaiswal ignited Indian domestic cricket with his astonishing performances in first-class, List-A cricket, and the IPL prior to his exploits with Team India. The devastating left-hander scored an astounding 625 runs during the 2023 IPL season with an average of 48.08 and a strike rate of 163.61.

India’s cricket team has set Nepal a target of 203 runs, in the quarter final match of the Asian Games 2023 at Hangzhou. Thanks to a century by Yashasvi Jaiswal India managed to post a total of 202/4 on a tricky and unpredictable batting wicket.

Having won the toss the Indian team decided to bat in this knockout match. They got off to a start with Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad forming a century partnership as openers.

However it was mostly Jaiswal who did most of the scoring while Gaikwad played a role contributing with a quickfire 25 off 23 balls before getting dismissed in the tenth over. Unfortunately Tilak Varma struggled during his time at the crease managing two runs off ten deliveries.

Jitesh Sharma, the wicket keeper batsman didn’t stick around for long either. Could only score five runs from four balls. As a result India found themselves at 119/3 after thirteen overs.

Luckily for India, Shivam Dube and Rinku Singh provided needed momentum towards the end of their innings. Their partnership resulted in a fifty two runs off twenty two deliveries.

Dube scored 25 runs from nineteen balls while Rinku Singh emerged as the hero with an outstanding unbeaten thirty seven runs, from just fifteen deliveries.Dipendra Singh, the player who gained attention for his batting stood out as Nepal’s best bowler, with figures of 2/31 in four overs.

On Friday, October 6th Nepal having secured the spot in Group A will face a task to secure a spot in the semi finals through an unlikely chase.
