The 3rd Test in the Border Gavaskar Trophy between India & Australia played at the Holkar Stadium in Indore, got over in just two days and one session.

The ICC has announced that the pitch used for the 3rd Test between India and Australia, played under the ICC World Test Championship, at the Indore Holkar Cricket Stadium is “poor” under the ICC Pitch & Outfield Monitoring Process.

Spinners from both teams enjoyed considerable help from the surface conducive to spin right from the start on the first day, which saw 14 wickets fall. Of the 31 wickets that went down during the match, 26 were taken by the spinners, while only four wickets went to pacers, and one was run out.

In a blow to India & the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA), Match Umpire Chris Broad has given three demerit points to the Indore pitch at the Holkar Stadium, where the 3rd India-Australia Test was held. BCCI has 14 days to appeal against the sanction by ICC. A cricket stadium will be suspended from hosting an international match for 12 months if it gets five demerit points or more in five years.

The action in the BGT 2023 now moves to Ahmedabad, while India is leading the series 2-1. Australia, however, punched their ticket to the World Test Championship final with the win in Indore, and India can do the same if they win the final Test.

While a lot of controversy about the Indore pitch is surfacing, the Internet is reacting to the claim of the poor pitch of Indore by the BCCI.
