The Border-Gavaskar Trophy will start in Nagpur on February 9. Nayan Mongia
Nayan Mongia was the man of the match of the first-ever BGT played back in 1996. He made 152 runs in 366 balls. He opened the innings and batted for 497 minutes, hitting 18 fours and a six preceding losing his wicket to Paul Reiffel.
Ajit Agarkar
Ajit Agarkar has played quite a few test matches compared to his long ODI career. However, in Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2003-2004, Agarkar took six wickets at the cost of 41 runs. He even took the wickets of Justin Langer, Ricky Ponting, and Simon Katich during the tournament.
Jason Krejza
The former Australian bowler had a magnificent bowling spell in the 2008 Border-Gavaskar trophy, where he took eight and four wickets in the match. However, the spell could have been more impactful, as he gave away 215 and 143 runs, respectively.
Steve O’Keefe
It was the 1st Test of the 2017 Border Gavaskar Trophy; Australia could make 260 runs in its first innings, making India think of an easy win over the Aussies. However, Australian left-arm spinner Steve O’Keefe took six wickets in 13.1 overs of Indian batting and let India score just 105 runs in the first innings.
Shardul Thakur
The 4th Test of the 2021 BGT saw an exceptional bowling spell of Indian bowler Shardul Thakur. He bowled 24 overs, gave away 94 runs and took three wickets. His performance was unexpected and helped India win the match by three wickets.
