The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the finalists for the September 2023 Player of the Month award. The squad has been in superb form in the run-up to the present 2023 ODI World Cup in India. Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj, and Dawid Malan are two Indian batsman and one English bowler on the ICC list, respectively.

Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan’s cricke­t team, has recently be­en honored with the ICC award for be­ing named the Player of the­ Month in August 2023. This achievement make­s him the first batsman to receive­ this recognition on three diffe­rent occasions.

In national colors, the No. 2 hitter in the ICC ODI Rankings had an outstanding month. He was a member of the side that won the Asia Cup 2023 as well as the three-match bilateral series against Australia in his native country.

He started the month slowly, hitting only 10 runs in Team India’s washed-out match against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023 group round. In the Men in Blue’s tight loss to Bangladesh in the Super Four stage, the opening batter answered with successive fifties and a superb century.

Gill hit fifty and a century in Team India’s 2-1 series triumph over Australia at home. In September 2023, he scored 480 runs at an average of 80.

Mohammed Siraj, who is now ranked first in the ODI bowler rankings, has been in excellent form and has been nominated for an ICC award. His highlight of the month occurred at the Asia Cup 2023 final.

The right-arm bowler blasted through the Sri Lankan team, bowling them out for 50 runs with scores of 6-21. Team India won the match by a margin of ten wickets, claiming the trophy for the first time since 2018.

Siraj also took three wickets in India’s Asia Cup 2023 group stage victory against Nepal. In total, he ended the month with 11 wickets at an average of 17.27.

Dawid Malan

In England’s ODI lineup, the­ left-handed batter has be­en positioned in the le­adoff spot. Malan had an outstanding performance in the home­ ODI series against New Ze­aland leading up to the World Cup.

Malan struck two fifties and a century as England defeated New Zealand 3-1 in three of the four one-day internationals. Malan scored 277 runs with a strike rate of 105.72 with scores of 54, 96, and 127.
