Harshit Rana the seamer for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) netted the wicket of SunRisers Hyderabads (SRH) allrounder Nitish Reddy in the seventh over of the IPL 2024 final held in Chennai on Sunday May 26. Delivering an impressive outswinger the pacer delivered a crucial breakthrough for his team.
Hyderabad won the toss and decided to bat first in the top showdown. However, they found themselves in a vulnerable situation, with top-order batsmen returning to the hut early. It was up to Reddy to steady the ship for his side.
However, the right-handed hitter failed to make an impression, falling behind after scoring 13 runs off ten balls. Harshit Rana delivered three consecutive slower deliveries, casting uncertainty in Reddy’s mind.
The SRH batter was expecting another cutter, but Harshit Rana stunned him with a fast outswinger. Reddy was absolutely outfoxed by the ball and ended up passing it to goalie Rahmanullah Gurbaz.

Mitchell Starc dispatched the southpaw with a gem of a delivery in the opening over. Travis Head too failed to make an impression, being dismissed for a golden duck to Vaibhav Arora in the second over. It was his third golden duck in the past four games.
Starc claimed another key wicket when the in-form Rahul Tripathi was caught by Ramandeep Singh for nine runs. With Nitish Reddy also failing to get his team out of difficulties, KKR took possession of the battle.
