Matt Kuhnemann was spectacular in the opening innings of the Indore Test, setting up a thrilling win for the Australian visitors. After India won the toss and chose to bat, their decision did not pay off as Kuhnemann managed to take wickets from the key players of Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Umesh Yadav. His end figures stood at 5-16 in 9 overs helping the Australians dismiss India’s total score of 109.

Todd Murphy, a 22-year-old, had just played seven first-class games before joining India for the tour. Yet, when he was given his Baggy Green ahead of the first BGT 2023 Test in Nagpur, he immediately made an impression, taking seven wickets for India in the only innings of this match.

#2 Nathan Lyon’s 8/64 in Indore

Nathan Lyon produced an outstanding display of off-spinning during the Indore Test match, helping Australia gain full control of the game. In the second innings, Lyon’s 8-64 figures ensured India could not achieve enough runs to challenge the Australians.

#1 Ravichandran Ashwin’s 6/91 in Ahmedabad

Ravichandran Ashwin produced a masterful performance on a surprisingly flat and unhelpful pitch in Ahmedabad, taking an impressive tally of six wickets for just 91 runs in 47.2 overs. His bowling was so successful that none of the other bowlers from either side could manage more than three wickets, making it apparent just how well he had bowled.
