Suryakumar Yadav, a top T20I batter, will be the captain for Team India in this series, with Ruturaj Gaikwad as his second in command.

Indian cricket fans were outraged after Sanju Samson’s name was not included in the T20I team. Many people believe that the selectors erred by passing him over for Suryakumar Yadav in the just ended 2023 World Cup.
One supporter was displeased with the development, saying, “Players from nowhere coming into the setup to replace him.” Samson was also instructed by him “to retire himself and play for USA, Netherlands or Ireland and face India as captain in ODI World Cup 2027.”
