Following his declaration that his favorite football team is the one where Cristiano Ronaldo plays, former India captain Virat Kohli sparked outrage from the public.

Ronaldo and Kohli are two of the greatest players in their respective sports today. A great of the game, 35-year-old Virat Kohli is now representing India in the 2023 ODI World Cup. With over 4000 runs and at least one century in every format, he has amassed 26,310 runs and 79 international centuries.

On the hand Ronaldo is widely recognized as one of the players and most prolific goal scorers, in the beautiful game. Despite being 38 years old he continues to excel for both his club and country having made his mark on the scene twenty years ago and netting than 850 goals.

In a recent interview that CristianoXtra published, Virat Kohli stated that, despite having previously supported every team that Ronaldo played for, his current favorite team is Manchester City.

His remark has thrilled his followers, with one tweeting:

“Two GOATS from their respective fields”

Another chimed in:

“Bro knows the Goat”

Next week, Portugal will play their last two UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers, featuring Al-Nassr’s Ronaldo.

Despite being above thirty, both Cristiano Ronaldo and Virat Kohli are still producing well for their respective clubs.

With 31 games played and 1710 runs scored for India across forms at an average of 65.74, Kohli has had an incredible 2023. He has seven hundreds and as many fifties. There are just two players who have scored more than him in the current World Cup: Quinton de Kock (550) and Rachin Ravindra (573). The total comprises 543 runs in eight games.

In the Indian Premier League, Virat Kohli has also amassed 639 runs in 14 innings for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

In the meanwhile, Ronaldo has excelled in 2023 for both his club and his nation. Including 15 goals and 9 assists in 16 games this season, he has 29 goals and 11 assists in 35 competitive appearances for Al-Nassr.

The 38-year-old has also scored nine goals in seven of Portugal’s winning UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying matches.
