Hanuma Vihari, the captain of Andhra, once again demonstrated on Wednesday why he is one of the most courageous cricketers playing in the 2020s. Amazingly shocking, he went out to bat against Madhya Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy quarterfinal despite having a fractured wrist.

Tuesday, Vihari suffered a fractured left wrist after being struck by an awkward short ball from Avesh Khan. The right-hander had to leave because he was in excruciating discomfort. The Andhra captain, however, led by example and came out to bat, this time as a left-hander, the next day when his team was nine wickets behind.

Hanuma Vihari played a critical knock of 27 while experiencing several jarring on his top hand without even using the bottom hand (57).

Twitter users praised Vihari for his bravery and willpower in continuing to play with a fractured hand. The following are the reactions of Twitter which were some exciting stuff:

“Hanuma Vihari is doing a Graeme Smith here.

He is showing tremendous courage, batting with just one hand, has played out all the key MP bowlers so far, and muddled close to everything.”

“Vihar i’s bones: Don’t do it, it’s risky.

Vihari: Yeah, whatever.”

“Hanuma Vihari knows better than most what it’s like to be a wounded tiger who won’t go down without a roar. But he’s taken it to a new level, batting left-handed here. Unbelievable commitment and valour!”

“We fought hard but not meant to be this year. We’ll come back stronger next season. Proud to lead this bunch who gives their everything on the ground.”

“-Vihari’s deleted the tweet when Andhra had a 0.001% chance of qualifying for KOs

Batting with a fracture for the team. Elite Warrior.”

The Sydney Test hero Hanuma Vihari is now remembered by the masses for sure.

Hanuma Vihari had previously shown himself to be a fantastic team player. He significantly impacted India’s performance in “The Great Escape” at the 2020–21 Border–Gavaskar Trophy in Sydney.

Australia gave India a goal of 407 in the last innings. It appeared as though the visitors were aiming to win up until Rishabh Pant arrived at the crease. With his 97, the southpaw may have played his finest Test innings to date, keeping India in the match.

Vihari tore his hamstring, making the situation worse for the visitors, who already had injured players like Ravindra Jadeja. Vihari and Ravichandran Ashwin combined to play out 254 balls, effectively batting on only one leg as India earned an extraordinary draw.

Many people think this draw made the visitors’ historic Gabba victory possible. One of the most extraordinary rearguard efforts in Test history is Vihari’s 23*(161).
